This was the last coastline I photographed before leaving the Pacific Northwest.
What drew me in wasn’t just the sea stacks—it was the atmosphere. The way the mist softened the distance. The way each rock formation revealed itself in layers, one behind the other, like memory stepping forward through fog.
The composition is centered. Grounded. Breathy. The kind of stillness that doesn’t demand attention but holds it anyway.
I’ve always been drawn to this posture in my work—something anchored in the foreground, something vast beyond it, and space in between for the viewer to arrive. This piece carries that familiar quiet, but it also carries departure. A closing chapter. A shoreline I knew I was leaving.

About this photograph
slightly more beautiful than the truth
There are rare moments when the world arranges itself so completely that it feels less discovered than revealed.
I found one of those moments at Ruby Beach.
What held me was the layering—the way mist softened the distance, the way each form emerged in quiet succession, each shape standing distinctly while belonging to a larger whole. The composition felt ancient, deliberate, and impossibly still, as though the landscape had gathered itself into silence.
For a long time, I believed that feeling belonged to Iceland. That the spacious solitude I found there—the contemplative stillness that shaped much of my Quietude work—was something unique to that place.
Ruby Beach reminded me otherwise.
Quietude is not confined to one landscape. It is a way of seeing—a recognition of those rare places that ask nothing from us except presence, reflection, and a willingness to be still long enough to hear ourselves think.
A Gathering of Quiet Forms is an acknowledgment of that truth: that peace is not always somewhere far away, and wonder is not always loud. Sometimes it gathers softly, shape by shape, until it becomes something quietly unforgettable.
Each print preserves a moment of balance and persistence—an invitation to live with a place that no longer exists.

Is the edition signed and numbered?
I use a tamper-proof, holographic pair of seals to certify the art with the Certificate of Authenticity.
I don’t typically sign the front of the art because I feel it interrupts the flow of the piece.
How long does shipping take?
Production and deliver take about 30 days.Adding framing doesn’t normally affect shipping time, unless the frame is out of stock or must be shipped from abroad.
What if the art arrives damaged?
All my work is fully insured during transport. You will have 48 hours to report any damage during shipping.
Return Policy
Since I began my career in 2012, I’ve never had a return.
Technically, all sales are final but I will do my best to ensure you are happy with your acquisition.

A frame on your artwork can be the bridge between what moves you as a collector and the space where your art lives. Your art includes a recessed frame and all mounting hardware. However, I have a wealth of knowledge about framing and can find the perfect frame for you if you’d like your presentation to include one.
There is a HUGE world of frame options available. I typically frame with Roma moulding and Larsen Juhl. My lab will take care of framing for you, so you don’t have to stress about anything aside from putting the art on your walls once you receive it.
