Ordering Business Cards & Flyers. Why I've Designed Mine This Way

Business Cards Are Conversation Starters...

They're only useful if you make an impact BEFORE You Hand It Over

Business Cards no longer drive business the way they used to, everybody has them and gives them out and information for your services is available from a dozen different sources. That card a person collected from "that one guy two weeks" ago is no longer that important. I use my business cards as conversation starters and connection creators. Then I get the prospect's information so that I can reach out. That way I ensure I can connect with them in the future. (Get an email provider that provides read receipts so you know they got your message, too)

I discuss the making and ordering of my business cards and the thought that went into it above. Enjoy this little Moo.com tutorial, too.

How Jennifer Mcintyre Reaches Her Clients

Marketing

So, I'm in the middle of this project for my sister, a beauty photographer, active duty Major, and all-out powerhouse of industrial ability. She's in Afghanistan right now, so some of that ability has to be delegated and I am happy to pick up the work on her behalf.

She is mailing contact cards to her beauty clients. Clients like Loreal, InStyle, Bare Essentials, etc.

How did she find these contacts?

What is she sending?

HOW DO YOU DO IT.

All of the above is covered in the above video. Please give it a thumbs up and leave any questions you have in comments below. You can also just send a wave to make me feel special. Who knows, I may need it at the moment.

A Practical Application for group member, Cody

Let's help Cody reach his clients

Cody had a question about selling his work in a small town. This is video, I do a practical application of the marketing tactics I taught in the group. See the unit on Marketing for more of that. I help Cody find a way to reach the people he wants to market himself to, directly.

Finding Your Voice

The most valuable art hack in my tool box.

Finding your voice as an artist is one of the most valuable lessons I've learned over the years. I discovered this lesson unexpectedly in a course by Eric Almas. Since then I've talked about to anyone who would listen and all of my students at Bellevue College.

Traditionally, it can take years, decades even, to discover who you are.

That was before the information age. The age of life hacks and the age of working smarter.

This process is very simple so let me parse onto you another life lesson. This one from Jim Rohn,

"Well, Mr Rhon. If it's so easy why doesn't everyone do it?"

"You know what," Rhon said. This is really easy to do. It's easy not to do too."

Doing this exercise requires you to be very intentional about what is about your work from now on.

Don't take this lesson and file it in your mental archive somewhere. Absorb it and act on it.

You can share your progress with me while you do it. Drop your wuestions here or on Facebook. Follow and add me to your board on Pinterest

Private Art Show at a Wealth Management event

I Got Here By Networking...

Last night I recorded a few clips while I prepared to show two pieces at a wealth manager's client appreciation event. I go over the following:

•My thoughts preparing and setting up
•Some of the key supplies/gear I used to set up.
•How I felt at the conclusion of the event.

Email Marketing Part II

So you've send the marketing email, no what

*Following up on my last video about releasing a new piece of art.

so... you're not finished with marketing once you've told everyone that your new piece has been created. You have to follow up with those who are interested. You also need to try to connect with those in your mailing list that didn't open the original email. It might be that they're ignoring you, or it might be that the email was lost to the birds, so to speak.

Here's some tactics and strategies to better connect with your audience.

Setting up my mailing lists and marketing for a new art release

Once you've created the art, you need to tell people about it.

Like it or not: being a professional artist requires you to learn and execute many professional skills that fall outside the purview of what it is to do art.

In this video, I discuss mailchimp as that is my email marketing tool. All of what I discuss here will be applicable to whatever email tool that you use.

We go over what I feel is effective language and content strategy for sharing my new piece of art, Edge of Solace. We talk about my website. I share the actual email that I send to my mailing list.

Who I chose to send the email to and why.

Instagram and social media.

And a ton of "little things" that go into putting together an effective email.

That's the first 20m. The second 10 minutes is about how I put together my framed and in-home examples. For those of you who want to learn more of that, stick around for the last ten minutes.

Cheers,

Jason

How I use RocketReach to skip by the gatekeepers and reach potential clients

Guerrilla Marketing 301

This is a case study on how I reach collectors directly.

As an artist and salesmen in a business to business capacity, I often have to negotiate with gatekeepers to get to the person who makes the decisions.

For years I struggled to get past these people and, more often than not, failed.

In many cases, it is the gatekeeper's job to filter the content that makes it to their bosses or into their work environment. Often, as you can imagine, their filter includes their biases. Sometimes even, they filter out people and things simply because they don't want to do any extra work.

Well, the best thing for an artist to do is to go around this person. Art is a luxury item and almost always falls in the extra work category for these type of people. If you want to make sure your message is being seen, then put it in front of the prospect directly.

You can find this video and it's discussion in our private facebook group.

How To Art Fair

Let's Talk About Art Fairs

Summer art fairs a big deal from many artists. For some, it is the primary source or income and exposure for their art.

It is for me.

In this video I discuss for the facebook group some of the important points about setting up your booth for success.

If you take art fairs as seriously as I do, then there are some golden nuggets in this video that will help you create success at your next art show.
